New Prime Minister of Greece Elected - Alexis Tsipras of Syriza Party

Alexis Tsipras was sworn in as Greece's new Prime Minister. The Left-wing Syriza anti-austerity party won parliamentary elections. The European Central Bank said that Greece will have to pay its debts.  Leader, Alexis Tsipras, was sworn on Monday after forming a coalition with the right-wing Independent Greeks party. Since 2010, Greece was granted bailouts totaling 240 billion Euros. Sunday polls showed the party winning at least 149 seats in the 300-seat parliament.  Unemployment has soared to 28%, and many people who still have jobs have seen decreases in wages, "And more than anything," Tsipras, 40, said, "I give back a country that is a member of the European Parliament and the euro."
